Meet the Team: Abi Bradley, Operations Manager, iso360

In this instalment of our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we’re sitting down with Operations Manager Abi Bradley.

Abi joined us with a background in engineering, business administration, and operations, including experience supporting internal ISO processes. We caught up with her shortly after she joined to hear about her career, how she’s finding the team, and what she gets up to outside work.

What’s your role at iso360, and what does it involve day to day?

I’m the Operations Manager.

At the moment, I’m finding my feet and figuring out how best to support the team and keep things running smoothly.

I’ve also been doing some event planning, and going forward, I’ll be managing the stand-up meetings.

As the company gets bigger, my role is going to evolve.

Each week is going to be a learning curve for me.

Tell us about your career before joining iso360.

I started a business administrator apprenticeship at 16 and spent ten years in engineering, working my way up to Technical Administrator before moving into operations management.

After having my daughter, I joined a healthcare company as their Operations Manager. I was basically the hub: salaries, ISO processes, projects, invoicing, cash flow, and health and safety. An umbrella for everything in the office!

How did you first get to know iso360?

I worked with Sharon [Buck, Co-Founder at iso360] in my previous position because she was our consultant.

I also worked very closely with Alex [Guy, Senior Consultant at iso360].

What attracted you to the role?

I wanted to be fully remote. I’ve always worked in an office, and I have a daughter and a dog so life is just easier being at home.

I thought this role would fit my life so much better. I’m all for work-life balance. I think if work takes over your life, something’s got to change.

With kids, you need flexibility. Being able to do this from home means more than anything to me.

What strengths and experience do you bring to the role?

I think it’s the organisation, bringing everything into one place. I’m old-fashioned. I like my notebook. I like to tick off what I’ve done. I’m also happy to crack on by myself. I don’t need to be babied, and I’m comfortable in that respect.

Working in different environments and different companies, I feel like I can bring a little bit of each to this role.

What have you enjoyed about being part of the team so far?

The flexibility and the small team environment. Gray and Sharon want everyone’s opinion, which is a big thing. I feel included.

The potential for professional development is fantastic, too. I’m due to start a CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma, which is an intermediate qualification for people professionals looking to develop their skills and make a difference in their organisation, so I’m looking forward to getting started with that.

What do you enjoy doing outside work?

Family is really important to me, and I value spending quality time together. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, walking and being outdoors, making the most of opportunities to explore new places.
